Josef Starkl besucht Annette und Ingolf Hofmann in ihrem Selbstversorger-Garten im Südburgenland. Auf vier Hektar widmen sie sich dem Anbau und der Verwertung von Gemüse und Obst und geben Gartenkurse. Ingolfs Leidenschaft gilt außerdem der Imkerei und der eigenen Ziegenherde. In ihrem Glashaus betreiben sie eine Saatgut-Produktion gefährdeter Gemüsesorten und eine Aufzucht von Jungpflanzen. Annette spricht über Mischkultur, Saatgutvermehrung, Sortenerhaltung und gibt Tipps für Selbstversorger. Der Imker Ingolf zeigt Josef Starkl, warum der Verzehr von heimischem Honig so wichtig ist, wie man ihn erntet, schleudert und Josef erklärt welche Futterpflanzen die Bienen dringend brauchen.
